Passports to Success Update – February 2017

Passports to Success Highlights

Education: Developing My Educational Plan- Presented by The Eddie Nash Foundation on Saturday, February 11th. We had an extraordinary turnout of Foster Youth from Orange County and surrounding counties. Most of the youth came from group homes throughout the county as well as some who attended with their CASA’s and caregivers. Youth and their Trusted Adults learned about the Multiple Intelligence Theory, focusing on their strengths, we had discussions on why graduating from high school matters & the importance of having a plan.  We also enjoyed amazing presentations from Guardian Scholars attending CSU Fullerton.  Our youth were so receptive and responsive to the information shared, and each of them walked away from this life skills session with an Educational Plan, encompassing what they intend to do after high school.  Every single youth wrote that they plan to attend some form of higher education!

We’d like to say a special thank you to our AWESOME volunteers, NCL (Laguna & Orange/Villa Park Chapters), Moira Hummel, Cindy Goodfellow, Marie Manning & Jan Drain! An extra shout to Cindy Goodfellow for donating lunch for our youth! Because of you all, we are able to do more for our youth.  THANK YOU!

We are so proud of our youth, and impressed with their growth. Their willingness to consistently show up for their future is AMAZING! We look forward to doing it again next month.

Join us next month on March 25th for Foster Youth on the MOVE: Get MOVING, GIVE back, Get CONNECTED!  We look forward to seeing you at the Bubble Run!
